Bivvy Plans And Costs

Typically, monthly pet insurance premiums will be contingent on a number of factors specific to your pet, such as species, breed, age, and location. The downside to this is that owners with older pets and breeds predisposed to genetic health risks often get stuck paying exorbitant rates that ultimately negate the financial benefits of pet health insurance.

Bivvy is different. No matter what type of pet you have, youll only pay $14 or $15 per month for a comprehensive Bivvy policy. Bivvys basic coverage will reimburse you for hereditary and congenital conditions, chronic conditions, cancer, diagnostics, blood tests, X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds, surgery, hospitalization, prescription medications, emergency care, and orthodontic treatments.

Your monthly premium with Bivvy also wont increase with age or because you filed a claim.

The Bottom Line: Bivvy Pet Insurance

Bivvy is an affordable and streamlined pet insurance company that provides one plan for all cats and dogs at the same monthly rate. The company is a good option for those seeking basic coverage of their pets since Bivvys standard plan will pay for most illnesses and injuries. Since Bivvy does not have exclusions or limitations based on age, it may also be appealing to owners of older cats and dogs.

However, Bivvy has a limited wellness plan. If you have puppies or kittens or are looking for an additional preventive care package, companies like Lemonade, Spot and Embrace may be worth considering for their coverage of spaying and neutering and higher annual caps for heartworm and flea prevention.

While Bivvy has a straightforward policy and claims process, it requires a hefty co-insurance of half the total cost of the veterinary service you are claiming and a flat $250 deductible.

Bivvy is also limited in its customer support, as representatives are not available by phone or online chat. Bivvy does have a customer service email address, but it is not clearly posted on the companys website and can only be found through the FAQ page. On the other hand, Fetch is accessible 24/7 through a live-chat feature and may be more appealing to those for whom customer service is a priority.

Customer Service & Reputation

Vpi Claim Status ~ 6thdesigns

Most pet insurance companies operate through a claims processing system. Youll have to pay your medical bill in full and submit a claim to receive a reimbursement. Since this is the case, finding a company with reliable and responsive customer service is essential. A good customer service representative will be able to help you track your claims and troubleshoot any issues that may delay your claim from getting processed.

When shopping for pet insurance, try looking for a customer service representative or agent with your pets best interest in mind. The most comprehensive pet insurance plan isnt suitable for all pets, and you can end up paying high premiums for a plan that covers services you wont use. So, if you feel that someone is trying to sell you the most expensive plan, its best to move on to a different company that will take the time to find and customize a plan that best meets your pets needs.

Is Pet Insurance Worth It

Pet owners may wonder whether paying for pet insurance is actually worth it, especially considering how much having a pet costs.

Pet insurance is worth the cost if:

  • You can afford the premium payments
  • You cant afford costly, unexpected vet bills
  • Your pet is young and healthy overall
  • Your pet will benefit from well-rounded coverage

Older pets with multiple pre-existing conditions wont reap the benefits of insurance. Premiums will be very expensive, and any condition or illness prior to enrollment wont be covered. This is why enrolling your companion at a young age is key.

Accident And Illness Coverage

Bivvy pet insurance only offers one coverage option for cats and dogs without the opportunity to adjust any policy aspects. The monthly premium for Bivvys one-size-fits-all pet insurance policy costs $15 per month regardless of age, breed, and size.

This plan does not have an upper age limit. Still, policyholders cant adjust the deductible, coinsurance rate, lifetime limit, or annual limit. The plan covers accidents, illnesses, hereditary conditions, congenital conditions, cancer, diagnostics, emergency care, rehabilitation, dental diseases, and prescription medications. Pet owners can also opt to purchase an additional wellness plan, which would help cover routine care costs like vaccinations.

Bivvy reimburses you for 50 percent of your vet bill if your dog or cat contracts any conditions that need expensive treatment. Disorders like hip dysplasia, cancer, or cruciate ligament disorders can cost hundreds or thousands of dollars out of pocket. Bivvy also helps alleviate financial stress from more common or chronic conditions like parvo, diabetes, worms, kidney disease, and upper respiratory disease.

Unfortunately, Bivvy doesnt cover diseases for which a preventable vaccine is available. That includes any vaccination deemed highly recommended by the American Animal Hospital Association. It also will not cover more than one foreign body removal surgery within a single insurance period.

Bivvy Pet Insurance Phone Number

Bivvy pet insurance phone number is 1-800-743-4345. They are a pet insurance company that covers dogs, cats, and other pets.

The Bivvy Pet Insurance policy provides a fixed price and a low-cost option for pet insurance. Additionally, it offers wellness packages that can help you protect your pets health. It is reasonable to deduct between $50 and $250 from your taxes, but this is a per-claim amount rather than an annual deductible. Vyvy Pets policies are not as flexible as they should be. Customers are still charged a flat rate for insurance. This means you cannot change or decrease your reimbursement levels, deductibles, or coverage levels. Avvys per-incident policy is set to $1,000.

Bivvy does not require you to take an initial exam in order to register your pet for insurance. If your pet has medical records, you may be required to obtain them. There is no set age limit for coverage, and the price of the quote is unaffected by your pets age. The waiting period for an accident is especially long when compared to industry standards. This package costs $9 per month, and you will be limited to the number of animals you can keep in this package each year based on the type of care they receive. Every year, the wellness policy entitles you to $40 in wellness exams, $15 for flea treatments, $20 for deworming, and $30 for vaccinations. They may not have the best policy in terms of coverage and premiums, but they are competitive.

What Is The Waiting Period For Bivvy Pet Insurance

How Much Is Pet Insurance

Top Creditor Collections Today Client Expectations Loans Content for ...

The average monthly cost of pet insurance with accident and illness coverage is $48.66 for dogs and $28.57 for cats. But the exact amount youll spend to insure your pet will vary, and not only by the insurer you choose.

Pet insurance costs vary widely based on several factors, including the pets breed, gender, age, location, and your chosen coverage options and deductible.

  • Pre-existing conditions Pet insurance providers will not reimburse you for conditions your dog, cat, or other pet already had before you bought the pet insurance policy.
  • Preventative care add-ons Youll get the best value from an accident or illness coverage plan, but you could add coverage for preventative care. Policies that cover both routine care and accident or illness care are called comprehensive coverage.
  • Pets age Premiums increase with age, and do so sharply for very old animals. In addition, after your dog or cat reaches age of 10 or 12, your choices in insurers will diminish significantly.
  • Deductibles With many plans, you set the deductible, which is the money you must pay before your insurance policy kicks in. But in addition to setting the amount of the deductible, make sure you also understand its type. An annual deductible for all care is common, but some instead impose per-incident or per-condition deductibles.

Cheapest Overall Pet Insurance Plans

We pulled insurance quotes for a sample dog and sample cat across several companies for a standard pet insurance policy. Plans included a $500 deductible, 80% reimbursement level and $5,000 annual maximum.

For both dogs and cats, Embrace and Figo ranked among the most affordable pet insurance companies.

We’d also recommend considering Healthy Paws if you want limitless coverage for accidents and illnesses, but you’re willing to pay for routine care yourself.

Rank
Nationwide $33.08
Trupanion $58.14 $697.68

The most affordable choice for cats was PetsBest but it was among the least affordable for dogs. Across the board, Trupanion ranked as the least-affordable insurer, though they provide excellent comprehensive coverage.

While affordability is important, it shouldn’t be the only concern when selecting a pet insurance policy. You should look closely at which pet ailments are covered and which are excluded. If your pet has preexisting conditions, your plan may consider some future illnesses ineligible for treatment.

Rank
Nationwide $17.03
Healthy Paws $24.75
Trupanion $28.14 $337.68

It’s also a good idea to examine the benefits allowance when comparing insurance plans and determine if the plan balances affordability with quality of coverage.

Positive Bivvy Pet Insurance Reviews

This policy is $10/mo and has saved me $156 so far. Ive only had the policy for 3 months. It has paid for itself and then some. Im not someone who has a lot of disposable income, I live paycheck to paycheck and a surprise vet bill is always hard for me. This is a reimbursement type of deal, so at least I know Im getting half back of what I paid. Its an affordable option.

Obviously, there are more expensive insurance options that pay upfront or reimburse for more, but if you cant afford the $45-100 monthly premiums for those, they are not good. The claims process is seamless and quick. I usually see the funds deposited in 7 days time. I recommend this to anyone.

How To Renew My Bivvy Pet Insurance Policy

You can rest assured knowing that your Bivvy policy automatically renews every year. All you need to do is pay your premiums in a timely manner. Otherwise, Bivvy might stall your coverage and if you continue paying after a certain period, youll have a coverage gap which will entail every previously observed condition to become pre-existing thus excluded from your coverage.
