Dental Claims And Appeals
In most cases, the dental provider will submit the claim for you. To submit a claim, complete and send in the Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield Dental Claim form.
If you have a denied claim with Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, you may appeal the denied claim following the steps below:
- Write to the Claims Administrator within 180 days of the date on the notice of the claims denial.
- State why the claim should not have been denied.
- Include the denial notice you received from Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield and any other documents, information or comments that you believe may have an influence on your appeal.
If requested, claimant will receive, free of charge, reasonable access to and copies of documents, records, and other information relevant to the denied claim.
For an expedited review of an urgent care claim, the request may be submitted orally or in writing .

How Do I Apply For Adult Dental Coverage
You can apply for adult dental coverage at ibx.com/enrolldental or by calling . Adult dental plans can be purchased throughout the year, with or without the purchase of a health plan. Adult dental plans are a 12-month contract that will renew on your anniversary date.
Tip: If you would like your dental insurance plan to be effective on January 1 and renew at the same time as your Independence Blue Cross health plan, be sure to purchase your adult dental plan between November 1 and December 15.

Bcbs Dental Application Experience
To enroll in a BCBS dental plan, you can go through your states health insurance marketplace or through your local companys website. Each companys application process may be different. With Highmark BCBS of Western New York, for example, you can easily submit an enrollment application.
When you fill out the application, you can indicate whether youre applying for a medical plan only, dental plan only or both a medical and dental plan. Youll be asked details about where you live to ensure that youre applying with the appropriate local company. In the next step, you need to indicate why you are enrolling in a dental plan. It could be as simple as because its Open Enrollment and you want a new dental plan. Or, you can indicate that youve lost coverage or you want to change your policy.
If you have children, you have a few different options. You can enroll in a family plan to extend coverage to your children. You can also enroll in a pediatric dental plan for the children. BCBS requires you to complete a separate application for each child if you want them each to have a pediatric dental plan.
Finally, you can choose the date when you want your dental plan to begin. You can also choose whether you want to pay your premiums monthly or quarterly.

If you have a Blue Cross Medicare Supplement or Legacy Medigap plan, this tells you how to get dental, vision and hearing coverage to go with your plan.
Blue Cross Medicare Supplements do not cover dental, hearing or vision exams, or cleanings, or other items like cleanings, prescription lenses or hearing aids. For $15.25 a month you can the Dental Vision Hearing Package to enhance your Medicare supplement plan. The premium cost may be re-evaluated each year and is subject to change.

Will I get credit for my prior dental coverage?

Dental Blue for Individuals is not part of the covered health insurance benefits of any Blue Cross NC plans. Dental Blue for Individuals must be purchased separately.
