I Purchased Ski Pass Insurance In 2021

My First Airline Ticket Scam Experience

I purchased ski pass insurance in 2021 for my children. When one of my children was unable to use the ski pass for medical reasons they denied my claim. I was forced to sue them and it has cost them more in legal bills than my claim was worth. Hopefully others will sue them when they try to deny valid claims too. This way they will stop their unethical business practices.

I booked vacation several months in advance, it was suggested I purchased the travel insurance for unforeseen incidents, I was packed and ready to head to my destination, when tropical storm Claudette was deemed dangerous for travel, I filed a claim with Red Sky and was denied, I appealed and was denied, I appealed again with several articles regarding Claudette and coverage listed in policy and was approved, I dont think it should have been denied to start with, but I am very thankful that it was finally approved.It made me wonder why buy travel insurance.

Thanks to the internet, its never been easier to find information about a company before you commit to purchasing one of its products. You should always check out customer reviews online. This is especially important with insurance companies, as even little problems may influence your decision.

In most instances, its a good idea to check out reviews of the insurance company and its plan administrator. In this case, Red Sky itself is the plan administrator, and its presence in reviews is virtually non-existent, limited to 15 complaints on the Better Business Bureau over the past three years.

Red Skys underwriter, Arch Insurance Company, has a rating of A+ from the Better Business Bureau and has been a BBB-accredited business since 2012. Arch has received, on average, around 16 complaints over three years. This is considerably lower than many of its competitors.

Trustpilot is often an excellent place to look at consumer reviews. Unfortunately, neither Red Sky nor its underwriter have a presence there.

Cancel Beach Trip Due To Covid

We had to cancel our June 4 to June 11 beach trip due to grandchildren getting CoVid. We cancelled on May 29th. Doctor forms required..Done..Copies of every payment required for beach house…Done. Still no refund. NO communication unless I call. We will NEVER deal Red Sky again. USAA travel it will be. I will be contacting the BBB/ lawyer/Emerald Isle Reality for suggesting/offering Red Sky. Their REVIEWS are terrible. I trusted the reality office with the offer of the travel insurance and I should have investigated the company first. I had Red Sky for the previous year’s beach trip and have determined that the only thing Red Sky is good for, was taking my money. BUT GOD help you …if you have to make a claim.*** UPDATE today. 7/15/22 Just got our claim approved. Stated in email to expect refund within the week.

Asking For My Bank Account Statement To

Asking for my bank account statement to prove I paid for my insurance when I sent you a document which clearly stated I personally paid for the insurance through the villa rental company was totally unnecessary. It was almost as if you purposely made me jump through hoops so I would give up and not collect. My bank statement did not show the exact dollar amount of the travel insurance as it was paid for in total with the rental of the villa in St Barths. The bank statement provided you with nothing!!!! EVEN THE VILLA RENTAL COMPANY COULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR NONSENSE RULES. I finally got the check sometime last week. My trip took place the 1st week of December.

Documented Mental Health Incidents Aren’t Covered

Mental health incidents aren’t covered. After 1 month of no responses, they finally responded that the guest of honor who had/was still having a mental health crisis would have to get their doctor to fill out Red Sky paperwork. I offered to provide documentation from hospitalizations, involuntary commitments, police reports, and everything but this guest refuses to acknowledge they have an issue so they won’t get their doctor to fill out paperwork. Red sky offered no alternative. It was really a waste of hundreds of dollars and I’ll never use them again

I still have hope that I will receive my refund for a trip that was insured for early June. I know it has been approved but still waiting for the funds. I want to go ahead and book another trip and hope COVID doesn’t interfere this time, but wondering if the extra insurance fee is worth it.

Horrible Performance Settling Claim

Horrible performance with settling a legitimate claim. We have a policy for the 21/22 ski season to protect our Ikon Pass through Red Sky . My wife tore her ACL while skiing in February with surgery in mid-March. We properly filed the claim with details of all medical bills, credit card statements, verification we paid for our Ikon Pass and a note from the doctor. Red Sky has now ghosted us with no response for 22 days – and appears to be refusing to pay the claim although it has not yet specifically stated as such.Never do business with Red Sky and this has nothing to do with COVID issues – it is how they operate. Why Arch Insurance allows Red Sky to represent them, is absolutely astounding.
